Shop Machinist Job Description<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Qualified candidates must have a minimum 3 \u2013 5 years\u2019 experience operating manual mills, lathes, VTL\u2019s and be willing to work overtime during busy season, typically spring and fall.\u00a0 This position is located in our Pevely, Missouri repair center and may require travel.\u00a0 The ability to setup and operate CNC equipment is a plus, but not a requirement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Job description summary is as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Flexible to work as scheduled by the employer and without absenteeism.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Follow all safe work practices.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Access areas to be machined by climbing ladder or stairs if needed.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Ability to lift 50 lbs.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Set up and operate manual machining equipment.<\/span>
\n\u00a0Lathes, both horizontal and vertical<\/span>
\no Bridgeport style mills and larger milling machines<\/span>
\no Grinders<\/span>
\n\u2022 Measure and monitor work for accuracy.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Clean up work area daily.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Be willing to work overtime during peak season (Fall\/Spring), weekends and holidays as needed. Paid travel and paid overtime (double time on Sundays).<\/span><\/p>\n

SKILLS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Understand and apply machining techniques; work quickly and skillfully with hands; self-motivated; accept responsibility for the work performed; work well in a team environment; operate machining equipment with skill.<\/span><\/p>\n

EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 A minimum of 3 \u2013 5 years\u2019 machining experience on manual machines.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Able to work from blueprints\/sketches and verbal direction as well as troubleshoot work process and adjust as needed.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Experience in field machining is a plus but not required.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Experience in the use of proper precision measuring equipment<\/span>
\n\u2022 Good mechanical background<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>
